Classic catwalk Make-up

Todays lesson was all about challenge and its made me realise how it would be in a real job.

Everyone today was given a look to create. My one is shown in the picture below. Very natural flawless makeup with very strong

EB's.

Sample Re-create Picture

I had 45 minutes to create this look
and I managed to complete it in time, very happy with the timing.

Branka advised us that usually you would have about 30 minutes for full face makeup, so for me to achieve that, practicing is key.

I must say I loved every minute of todays lesson, I have learned a big aspect of Make-up industry and I learned its ok to make mistakes, just be in control and correct it.
I have learned to be organised and to have everything you think you might need in your kit.
Time managing is very important in this industry.
Branka has given us very good tips and tricks about how to manage our time and our kits.

And to be honest at first I wasn't happy with the picture that I was given to re-create because it was a natural look and I wanted a full -on look but creating this natural look, I loved it. Sometimes I think to create a natural, dewy, flawless look can be more challenging.

OK to start with, the products I used:

Cleanser
Toner

and Moisturiser for dry skin because my model's face was slightly dehydrated.

Kryolan Ultra Foundation - Alabaster mixed

M.A.C. Studio Fix

Kryolan D32 (to cover the dark circles)

Kryolan loose translucent powder

Collection EB Kit - brown mixed with a small amount of black

Ben Nye-Glam Eye Shadow palette
Coco brown

Au Naturalle and shell
Lips Kryolan - Lip Rouge mini Palette 18 Colours

Eyeliner M.A.C Fascinating  White eyeliner
M.A.C. Powder blusher - Feur Powder
Hair spry

Natural

First I cleansed, toned and moisturised my model's skin. I used Kryolan Ultra Foundation - Alabaster mixed M.A.C.Studio Fix. Mixing both gave me a good texture to play with. Then I used
Kryolan D32  to cover all the dark circles around the eye and some pigemention around the face.
I used Kryolan loose translucent powder to set the foundation.

I Applied Ben Nye-Glam Eye Shadow palette Au Naturalle and Shell mixed for the base and then     Coco brown on the eye socket to enhance the eye socket.I applied mascara, mainly concentrating on the centre of the eye and the bottom and lower lashes because I wanted the eye to look wider and natural.

I used Eyeliner M.A.C Fascinating White
brilliant effect of what you want to achieve.
M.A.C. Powder blusher - Feur Powder for her cheeks, a very little amount because I wanted to keep it as natural as I could.

I then used Collection EB Kit - brown mixed with a small amount of Black
And to give that brushed look I used an eyebrow comb brush. I sprayed hair spray on to the brush and then brushed the eyebrow upwards to give it that natural look.

The compete Look

Overall I was very pleased with the result and my timing.
The main challenge was the eyebrows, I wasn't as happy with the way I did them.
I think the frame line of her eyebrows are to sharp comparing to the  Sample re-create picture.
it needed to be more natural not to sharp.

Simply Red Lip to Burgundy Ambre lip

Products:

Kryolan Ultra Foundation-Alabaster
Kryolan Ultra Foundation-NB2
Kryolan loose translucent powder

Kryolan Lip Palette
M.A.C Creme liner red
M.A.C Ruby woo lipstick
M.A.C liner Black "Track

To start with, as Branka Advised, if you want to get a perfect finish, you need to prep the lips by gently exfoliating the lips to remove the dead skin.
Ever wondered why we get a white line on the inner line of the lip after applying lipstick or lip gloss after a few hours, its because of dead skin cells so by preparing the lips not only does it give a perfect finish but also a long lasting smooth lips.
So after preparing the lips, apply a very little amount of Carmex as advised by Branka or Vaseline, again very little, just in the middle of the lips.

To start with, look at the shape of the lips first to see if there is any imperfection or an unbalanced lip line.
According to your findings, the best way to balance the lips is to use lip liner.
The top right of my model's cupid bow was slightly higher then the left, so I corrected that with M.A.C Creme liner red.
I started with drawing a line on the top middle of the lip enhancing the cupid bow of the lips.
Once I was happy with the level of the lip, I started on the corner of the lips working my way up to join the line to the cupid bow. Repeat the same procedure on the other side and the bottom of the lips.

M.A.C Ruby woo lipstick
Using my cosmetic metal spatula I applied a little amount of Ruby woo lipstick in the back of my hand.
I Find the heat of my hand really helps to spread the product better.
I started with the centre of the lips working my way to the lip liner and smudging the lip liner with the lipstick to get the perfect blend.

To finish it off, I put normal cosmetic tissue over the lip and then over it I applied loose translucent powder with the Large powder brush to give it a perfect matte finsh.

I started with the same procedure for prepping the lips.
I used Kryolan Lip Palette Number 8 & 10. I applied the lipstick without lip liner this time.

Once the lipstick was applied, I outlined it with
M.A.C liner Black "Track.

Start smudging and blending it, starting from the top lip.

I used the same method I used to finish off the simply Red by

applying cosmetic tissue over the lip and then over it I applied loose translucent powder with the Large powder brush to give it a perfect matte Finish.

The complete look.

Overall I was very pleased with what I have learned from Branka.
I feel much more confident about
todays lesson.
Key Points:
Blending,
Smudging
&
Correct way of applying lip liner and correcting the unevenness of the lips.

Thanks again Branka!

Fashion Catwalk Black Lips

Products used

Cleanse & Tone
M.A.C  Gel liner Black Track
Kryolan Ultra Foundation - Alabaster
Kryolan loose translucent powder

Branks advised us to use a Flat square brush to achieve this look.

I Just cleansed and toned around the lips and wiped the lips itself with lip cleanser to start with a nice smooth base.

After prepping the lips I applied a

very small amount of Vaseline

Kryolan Ultra Foundation - Alabaster

to cover the Cupid bow and just around the

lips.

I started with cupid bow using the Flat
square brush and
M.A.C  Gel liner Black Track.

First I put 2 little dots to have the correct starting point.

I started with drawing a line on the top middle of the lip, enhancing the cupid bow of
the lips.

Once I was happy with the level of the lip, I started on the corner of the lips working my way up to join the line to the cupid bow. Repeat the same procedure on the other side and the bottom of the lips.

Apply cosmetic tissue over the lip and then over it, apply loose translucent powder with the Large powder brush to give it a perfect matte Finish.

And the last touch, apply a very small amount of Vaseline just in the centre of the lips.

The Flat square brush really helped

me, especially when you hold the brush at an angle, it gives a perfect sight line.

Overall I was very happy with my application of the lipstick considering this was my first attempt.

Contouring dewy Make-up look

Contouring to me is a sense of balance and adding enhancement and definition to your make-up with colour.
The aim for this look was to achieve a dewy, natural contoured look.

Products used:

Maquillage Palette by Mandy - Gold Light/Dark
Mixing Lotion (to thin the foundation)
Kryolan D32 (to cover the dark circles)
Kryolan loose translucent powder
Eyebrow Kit from Collection - brown mixed with a small amount of black
Lips Kryolan-  Lip Rouge mini - Palette 18 Colours
Vanilla pigment

Natural

I started with cleansing, toning and moisturising the skin. Once the skin was prepared I used Maquillage Palette, mixing it with Mixing lotion to give a light base to the foundation. Maquillage Palette is completely new to me. This is the second time I'm using this product and its a bit of a challenge to get the shade right but with the help of Branka I managed to achieve the right colour and what I'm loving about this product is the fact that you can achieve a light and heavy base by just adding the mixing lotion, so to make Maquillage Palette my friend I need to practice practice practice.

I used Kryolan D32 to cover the dark circles and some breakouts. I love this product and again I used Maquillage Palette without the mixing lotion as a concealer.

For my contouring I used
Maquillage Palette's darker shades and it worked perfectly. I blended it using my foundation blending brush that I used to apply the foundation. As I finished, I wasn't happy with the balance of where I applied the darker shade, under the cheekbones, so Branka rescued me by showing me how to correct it with the foundation!

Half Face

Branka advised us to use CREAM BLUSHER!
Cream blusher is my weak point. Branka used lipstick on her demo and it was brilliant, so I tried and I wasn't happy at all because it was all patchy and uneven and thankfully Branka showed me
how to fix it.

All she did was she applied the same foundation I used for the base on top of where I applied the blusher and blended it and that fixed all the unevenness and it look beautifully dewy. For highlighting I used Vanilla pigment. It gives a very natural enhancement. This product is great, you can use it in many different ways and it works just like Maquillage Palette; the less you apply, the lighter the shade you get and the more you apply, you get a stronger pigment. So I practiced at home and I must say I love cream blusher. Its not my weak point anymore, thanks Branka!

The Completed Look

Overall i was very happy with result i definitely need to practice more and i definitely gained more confidant .

Smooth Straight hair

Smooth Blow Dry

Products used :

Hair dryer
Round brush
Heat protection serum
Section Clips

To get nice straight hair you need to blow dry on a low setting at first to remove excess water.
I Divided the hair into 3 sections and start with pulling the hair at a 45 degree angle. Keep the tension consistent and evenly distribute heat over the section you're working on to give it a nice smooth finish.

For thicker hair you need more product to achieve your desired look.
Overall I was happy with the result although trying to achieve a straight and smooth blow dry is very challenging on a dolly's head...

Classic Smoky Eyes

This is a classic Red carpet look, very strong on the eyes and natural with the lips and cheeks.

Products used:

I've waited a very long time to learn this look...or should I say, the smoky eyes, from Branka
Her demonstration for this look was amazing! I finally learnt how to do smoky eyes with
Gel eye liner!

Model Alicja Bizon

I used M.A.C Fluidline Eye Liner. The trick with using Gel eye liner is, once applied, you have to blend it very quickly otherwise it drys fast! This was my first attempt and I can't wait to try it again to correct the few mistakes I made. However with branka's help, I corrected it and was happy with the result,                               .     next time hopefully with glitter...
