Following my initial trial run in class I
used gems to create a shape, which I wanted to stick on to my model’s face
around the eyebrow to create a dramatic effect.
Below is a picture of what look inspired me.
Below is a picture of what look inspired me.
Here the artist has used silver gems along
the eyebrows, with black eye shadow and black lips. However as I had already
come up with my colour scheme it inspired me to use the gold on the eyelids and
lips as the rest of the model would be painted black.
Mac pro black body face paint
Spirit gum
MME(for removal of spirit gum)
Mehron mixing liquid
Mehron metallic powder gold
Set of body paintbrushes with soft fine
bristles Zen73 series
Fever eyelashes bottom and up
Gems of different sizes (variety)
Two large pointy tweezers
Barrier cream
Butterflies accessories for body
Pre made cups for the breasts
Hair products:
Hair spray
Tail comb
Large brush
Bobby pins and black hairpins
Artificial pearl beaded branches *4
Hair band
Demonstration:
Model Victoria Lewis
For my masquerade practical assessment I started off with putting my models hair in a high pony tail and moulded it as a flat bun using hair bands and bobby pins to be able to secure the hair piece on top.
Blocking out the EB I used very little spirit gum to block out the end of the eyebrows only, once that was dried,
I then started painting the hairline and hair first with the Mac Pro black body face paint then working my way down to beneath the breasts including the hands leaving only the lips bare.
For the final touches I had butterfly
accessories for the body, which were originally, silver when I purchased them
but I used gold dust at home to give it the gold look for my theme.
Once again using spirit gum I stuck some to the models finger and chest with some beads alongside. I also stuck a few of the butterflies on the hairpiece as well to go with the pearl beaded branches. To complete the whole look I waited until right at the end to use the metallic gold

Taking the variety of
different sized gems I had, I used some more spirit gum to stick them on to the
models eyebrow and with the rest of the gems I stuck two big ones; one on the models
cupid bow’s dimple and one on the chin for more effect. Mixing the Mehron
metallic powder with the Mehron mixing liquid I painted the models eyelids
gold.
I went back to the models hair and using
more bobby pins I then secured my premade hair piece on the models bun which I
had done in my first steps. I then started positioning the artificial pearl beaded
branches into the hair piece and securing it in place with some more bobby pins
Once the hair was secure I then got the pre-made golden cups for the breasts which I had made at home and used latex to
stick them on the models breasts.
Once again using spirit gum I stuck some to the models finger and chest with some beads alongside. I also stuck a few of the butterflies on the hairpiece as well to go with the pearl beaded branches. To complete the whole look I waited until right at the end to use the metallic gold
I was very happy with my final outcome. Everything went the way I wanted and on time. My only concern was that my model was comfortable as the headdress was a bit heavy.
